Former President General Mdzough U Tiv World-wide Chief Engr Edward Ujege has charged his successor Air Commondore Titus Agbecha (rtd) and the new exco not to relent in the struggle to reposition the Tiv nation in its proper place in Nigeria. Ujege gave the charge when the new MUT President led the new exco on a courtesy call Monday August 10, 2026 in appreciation of the Jechira Traditional Council and the Tiv nation for finding them worthy of leadership. Ujege charged the new MUT leadership to seek redress of the continued marginalization of Tiv indigenes in federal apointments and recruitments. He also charged the new leadership to upscale the fight against child trafficking and other related vices threatening Tiv land so as to protect vulnerable Tiv children from being trafficked to other countries resulting in deaths, prostitution and other social vices. Earlier, President Agbecha (rtd) informed Jechira Traditional Council that, they were in Jechira Intermediate Area in continuation of their courtesy visits to all parts of Tiv land to seek the advise and support of Jechira people to enable them succeed and noted that leadership is collective responsibility. Chief Agbecha appealed to Jechira traditional Council to support the organization's blueprint entitled "Tiv Agenda", which he explained is a working document aimed at identifying the position and place of the Tiv nation among other cultures and ethnicities. In separate remarks, HRH Chief Nyiyongo Achiaku (Ter Kunav); HRH Chief Emmanuel Akpoghol (acting Ter), HRH Sir Augustine Aule (Mue Ter Kyan), and HRH Chief Orngu Ikyarem (Mue Ter Shangev Tiev) all applauded the proactive measures taken by the leadership of Mdzough U Tiv to reposition the socio cultural organization as timely and encouraging while advising it to imbibe the culture of unity and peace to enable them succeed in delivering on the mandate assigned to them.
