BREAKING: Indications are daily emerging that President Ahmed Tinubu's administration is a cesspool of corruption, with the discovery of more fake federal agencies operating thin its system. Even as Nigerians await the final outcome of investigations into the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIFC) and how it operated for years, even finding its way into the national budget, the nation is again reeling from another scandal involving another fake agency. A Sahara Reporters breaking news has it that President Bola Tinubu recently ordered the arrest of one George Buchi Nwabueze as well as the immediate suspension from office of three Federal Permanent Secretaries whose names were given as M.S. Danjuma, Nadungu Gagare and Richard Pheelangwah. According to the report, this followed the discovery of another fake agency operating within the highest hyrachy of the administration. Sahara Reporters says Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr Musa Aliyu, SAN, disclosed the development yesterday (Friday) while briefing news men in the FCT. According to Aliyu, the newly uncovered fake office operates under the name 'National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office' and had allegedly been allocated office space within the Federal Secretariat without presidential authorisation and contrary to extant laws, adding that the discovery was made during the commission’s ongoing investigation into the PFIFC scandal. According to the anti graft agency boss, “Upon further briefing by ICPC to Mr President on the ongoing investigations into the fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council and procedural weaknesses in the public service, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has uncovered another fake agency and office operating under the name National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office, which has been illegally allocated office space within the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation." He said the investigation identified Nwabueze as the promoter of the fake office, adding that he allegedly operated under several variations of his name. “The fake agency office, National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, was promoted by one George Buchi Nwabueze, with active suspected collaborators in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, contrary to extant laws and without authorisation of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria." Aliyu said Nwabueze was also found to operate under the names George Nathan, George Nathan Nwabueze, Honourable George Buchi Nwabueze, Prince George Buchi Nwabueze and George Nwabueze. The ICPC chairman said the commission had already engaged with the OSGF to obtain vital information relating to the fake office and has briefed President Tinubu on its findings. “I have briefed Mr President comprehensively on these new developments," he said, adding that President Tinubu consequently directed the arrest of Nwabueze and the immediate suspension of the three Permanent Secretaries. "ICPC will continue with its investigations accordingly," he assured. The Mandate reports that self-styled Director-General of PFIPC Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew is still facing prosecution over alleged forgery and impersonation. It was learnt that the ICPC August 6 submitted an interim report to the President following a 30-day investigation into the scandal. The ICPC report, it was gathered, also uncovered two other fictitious bodies — the FCT Investment Promotion Agency and the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency and Public-Private Partnership. The National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office is now the fourth fake agency uncovered by the ICPC in the ongoing investigation into fictitious government bodies operating within or around the Federal Government structure.
