" 'President Bola #Tinubu's lies are falling apart; this case was never about a civil forfeiture. The long speculation about whether serious law-enforcement records concerning President Tinubu exist is over. They do exist,' ” declared Dr. Karl Von Batten, a Senior Government Advisor and Consultant based in Washington DC, in a message on X earlier this morning. This was contained in a statement published on facebook by #ATIKU2027, a support group for Nigeria's former Vice President and now Presidential candidate of ADC in next year's Presidential elections. The statement, like The Mandate's story of yesterday (Saturday August 29), titled, 'US may kidnap Tinubu', wondered if the US may eventually kidnap Nigeria's President Ahmed Tinubu if documents in possession of the FBI confirmed that the controversial drug-related case in which Tinubu allegedly forfeited 460,000 dollars was a criminal and not a civil procedure. According to #ATIKU2027, "Another Venezuela may be loading for Nigeria, as FBI immediately clears the air, releases 399-page document with materials that include records of Heroin-residue laboratory testing, controlled drug purchases by a cooperating Witness, confidential informants, more, to prove that the alleged drug trafficking-related offences tied to Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, was a criminal offence, and not a civil case; an international arrest may be looming, just shead of the 2027 Presidential election." The statement added, "The All Progressives Congress, APC, may be left without a 2027 Presidential candidate, as the controversial documents tied to President Bola Tinubu in a United States of America, USA, District Court, have been proven to be criminal in nature, and not civil. "Dr. Karl Von Batten, a Senior Government Advisor and Consultant based in Washington DC, alleged in a post on X on Sunday morning, that new filings by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, and the Drug Enforcement Administration, DEA, revealed 399 pages of records relating to President Tinubu. "He posted: 'Last night, the @FBI and @DEAHQ presented the Court with new filings concerning the alleged heroin-trafficking records involving President Bola Tinubu (@officialABAT). What is shocking is that we learned the FBI’s Tinubu-responsive search produced 399 pages of documents related to #Nigerian President Bola #Tinubu.' According to Batten, the materials include records of 'heroin-residue laboratory testing, controlled drug purchases by a cooperating witness, confidential informants, federal grand-jury activity, prosecutorial reports and meetings, surveillance, undercover operations, financial seizures, bank-account seizure warrants, IRS criminal-investigation material, and international investigative coordination'. "Batten further revealed that the disclosure contradicts the narrative that the matter was limited to a civil forfeiture stating, 'President Bola #Tinubu's lies are falling apart; this case was never about a civil forfeiture case. The long speculation about whether serious law-enforcement records concerning President Tinubu exist is over. They do exist.' "He then questioned what is contained in the documents, saying: 'The question now is simple: What is contained in those 399 pages that President Tinubu does not want the American and Nigerian people to see?' "The filings were submitted to the US District Court for the District of Columbia as part of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit seeking the release of records related to a 1990s investigation in Chicago. On August 20, 2026, the Court granted the FBI’s request to submit parts of the records for an in-camera review, and set August 28, 2026, as the deadline for final briefings. "With a few months to the 2027 general elections, the development is already generating debates within the ruling party, with some members expressing concerns over the potential impact on the party’s Presidential ticket," the statement concluded. United States Congressman Ronny Jackson was said to have disclosed that in the kast three years of the Tinubu administration, Nigeria has become a new hub for South American drug traffickers. Jackson made the remark in a private chat with Von Batten Montague York, a highly reputed advocacy firm which works in Washington for former Atiku, after the latter tendered Justice Department papers to the US Court following the insistence of Judge Beryl Howell.
