Benue governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has saluted Benue people for what he describes as their resilient and industrious nature even as he commended their dedication to the growth and development of the state. An early morning message from the office of the Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kula July 13, 2026 quoted Governor Alia as assuring Benue people that his administration notes with deep regrets recent attacks in certain parts of the state by suspected terrorists. The statement emphasized that the Governor shares in the grief of affected families and communities and urges the people of the state not to lose hope, assuring that his administration is doing everything humanly and strategically possible to curtail the security challenges. The governor averred that his administration is "working in close synergy with the Federal Government, and affirms that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains firmly determined to end the cycle of violence," noting that the administration is "diligently implementing all necessary measures to ensure that the President’s security interventions yield lasting results on Benue soil. He further emphasized that, "The governor remains a leader for all, regardless of affiliation. He is for all people and for the soul of Benue." The statement further calls on Benue people to keep faith with the administration, assuring that while it has achieved much in a short time, more developmental initiatives are in place, much of which are yet to be unveiled. "The vision for a new Benue is a long-term journey. As the foundation is being laid, there is an obvious need for continuity and consolidation to ensure these life-changing projects reach every corner of our state. Rebuilding Benue is collective. I invite all people of goodwill, everyone who believes in The Vision Benue, to join hands with me”, the governor said.
