BY RICHARD ABU The students' week of Famous Star Institute of Management and Technology, Zimbabwe, Karu local government area of Nasarawa State ended Saturday August 1 with its Director Maikasua Rabo Chidawa calling on governments at all levels to come to the aid of the school by providing it with Computers and scholarship grants for students. The week long event featured environmental sanitation and medical outreach for the host community as part of the school's corporate social responsibility. It also featured a novelty football match between the students, a beauty competition and drama performances als well as other highlights. It climaxed with a fund raising to equip the school's e-learning centre as well as cultural performances from different tribal associations like Koro, Gbagi, Tiv, South South, Hausa/Fulani and Mada cultural troupes who entertained guests with dances and renditions. Rabo, amidst the celebration, reiterated his call for government assistance, maintaining that the skills and technical training offered students, if supported, will make its graduates employers of labour instead of job hunters. He expressed satisfaction with the students performances in academic and extracurricular activities even as he commended staff for their high level commitment.
